Aug. 31, 2017 - The modernization of Visakhapatnam plant (Vizag Steel) is progressing smoothly and blast furnace # 2 will recover to operation in September, according to local source.

The Visakhapatnam Steel Works is owned by Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd, with an annual capacity of 6.3 million tonnes which will be improved to 7.3 million tones after the completing of modernization. It is reported that the project will cost INR 4,000 crore, aiming to improve production capacity and reduce costs.
